An Abuja-based veterinary doctor and former chairman of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), FCT chapter, Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, was brutally killed by suspected kidnappers who also abducted his three children in Kubwa, along the Kubwa-Kaduna road.
The shocking incident has thrown the community and the veterinary profession into mourning, as colleagues, friends, and family members struggle to come to terms with the devastating loss.

According to reports, the gunmen abducted Dr. Ogbu alongside his three children during the late-night invasion. Hours later, his lifeless body was found dumped by the roadside, while the whereabouts of his children remain unknown.
The sad news was confirmed by Andrew Gabriel Ikechukwu, who wrote on Facebook that the deceased’s body had been discovered, but his children were still being held captive.
“Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, the immediate past chairman of the NVMA FCT chapter, who was kidnapped alongside his three children from his home in Kubwa Abuja, was found dead. The three children are yet to be released. May God please intervene,” he said.
Dr. Ogbu has been described as a dedicated professional who served the veterinary community with passion and commitment. His sudden death leaves behind a grieving wife, his abducted children, and devastated colleagues who have expressed shock at the violent attack.
