According to the Command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the viral video immediately triggered alarm, prompting the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, to order the Divisional Police Officer in Mubi South to track down the suspect. Within hours, operatives traced Dauda to a remote location in Mubi town and arrested him.
Dauda is currently in custody, while police intensify efforts to recover the AK-47 rifle and determine how he obtained it. The Commissioner has handed the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yola for discreet investigation and prosecution.
While addressing the development, CP Morris warned residents against actions that could endanger public peace, stressing that the Command will not tolerate any breach of security or unlawful possession of weapons.
In a separate development, the Adamawa Police Command has detained four police officers also captured in a viral video using excessive force while arresting a suspect on October 14, 2025, in Sabon Gari Quarters, Fufore Local Government Council.
The video showed the officers shooting and acting aggressively, behavior the Commissioner described as unprofessional and unacceptable. He emphasized that the Command will discipline any officer who abuses power or violates policing ethics.
