The Kaduna State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused authorities of politically targeting former governor Nasir El-Rufai and other opposition figures.
Speaking at a press conference, a party chieftain, Muhammad Sani-Bello, expressed concern over what the party described as politically motivated actions capable of undermining democratic principles.

According to the ADC, recent developments involving El-Rufai are part of a broader strategy aimed at weakening his political influence.
The party cited his omission from ministerial appointments, ongoing proceedings at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, and the arrest and detention of some of his associates as examples.

The ADC listed affected individuals to include Bashir Saidu, Ja’afar Ibrahim Sani, Jimi A. Lawal, and Aisha Galadima.
It also alleged that agencies such as the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Department of State Services (DSS) are being used in ways that suggest selective enforcement.
The party further claimed that prolonged detentions, changes in bail conditions, and what it described as legal harassment point to a political agenda rather than legitimate law enforcement.
