- APC trails as voter turnout remains very low
- Victory recorded at Wuse Zone 4 polling unit
- ADC candidate alleges intimidation and vote buying
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has recorded a victory over the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a polling unit in the ongoing Area Council elections across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The opposition party secured the win at Polling Unit 076, Sani Abacha Estate, Wuse Zone 4, during a contest marked by generally low voter turnout.

The polling unit is where the Moses Paul, the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship candidate of the ADC, cast his vote.
Out of a total of 10 votes recorded at the polling station, the ADC polled seven votes to emerge victorious. The APC received two votes, while one ballot was rejected.
Speaking earlier, Paul blamed the low turnout on restrictions on movement announced by the FCT administration, describing the situation as confusing for voters.
“The turnout is far lower than expected. What we are witnessing feels like a state of emergency,” he said.
The ADC candidate also alleged intimidation of his party’s agents in parts of AMAC, including Takum Shara and areas within Kabusa ward such as Dogongada and Shereti.
According to him, some ADC agents were reportedly threatened with violence, actions he claimed were aimed at suppressing voters and influencing the election in favour of the ruling party.
Paul further accused political actors of engaging in vote buying in parts of the capital city, stressing that such practices were criminal and harmful to democracy.
Despite the challenges, he expressed confidence in the electoral process, urging Nigerians to resist intimidation and demand accountable leadership.
