The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke for donating ₦1 billion to the Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Lagos, sparking outrage among the public.
According to APC chairman Tajudeen Lawal, the donation is “morally questionable” and raises concerns about the use of state funds. “It won’t be an overstatement to state that it was from the scarce resources of the Osun State fund that Governor Adeleke used as a mega donation in the remembrance of his mother in a church in Lagos,” Lawal said.

Lawal emphasized that while the party supports charitable donations, decency and morality should not be sacrificed. He questioned the timing of the donation, suggesting that it may be perceived as using state funds for personal purposes.
Adeleke’s donation has sparked various reactions, with many questioning the justification for such an act.
The APC chairman concluded by suggesting that this situation indicates either a lack of competent advisers for Governor Adeleke or a refusal to heed the counsel of his numerous advisers.
