The outage is due to a planned maintenance exercise by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on its 60 megavolt-amperes TR1 (3KUB-TR1) 132/33 kilovolt Kubwa Transmission Substation.

Areas to be affected by the disruption include Dawaki, Duste, Bwari, Kubwa, Deidei, and environs.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced a planned power outage in parts of Abuja on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
According to AEDC, the outage is due to a planned maintenance exercise by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on its 60 megavolt-amperes TR1 (3KUB-TR1) 132/33 kilovolt Kubwa Transmission Substation.
The company disclosed that areas to be affected by the disruption include Dawaki, Duste, Bwari, Kubwa, Deidei, and environs.

AEDC stated, “This is to inform customers in Dawaki, Duste, Bwari, Kubwa, Deidei, and its environs that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) will be conducting a maintenance exercise on the 60MVA-TR1(3KUB-TR1) 132/33kV Kubwa TS.”
Abuja, Nasarawa Residents To Suffer 15-day blackout –AEDC
Residents have expressed displeasure, following a blackout scheduled to hit Abuja and its environs.
According to a statement released by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, power interruptions are scheduled to take place starting on January 6, 2025, and lasting until January 25.
