Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has vacated the training camp ahead of next week’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The 29-year-old forward was found absent during the Super Eagles last training session on Wednesday 5th after losing a family member to death.

Following the bereavement, Musa was allowed to travel and stay with his family members.

That said, the Fatih Karagumruk of Turkey forward will return to join up with his teammates in Cameroon ahead of side’s first clash against Egypt on January 11.

Meanwhile, another Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo, is a doubt for the tournament as his club side, Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabian Football League has withheld his release.

And what presently hampers his representation for the Super Eagles is a clause found in the deal he signed with the White Lion.

The clause is to the effect that the former Manchester United striker would no longer play for Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old joined the new club on February 2021 after his loan spell at the Red Devils came to an end.

The Lagos-born star has therefore recorded 21 goals in 28 appearances since he completed move to Péricles Chamusca’s side.

Ighalo also notched the winner for his side who beat Al Ahli Saudi 4-3 in a Saudi Pro League fixture on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Ighalo was recalled to the Super Eagles in November after announcing his retirement earlier and being away from the team for over two years.
