Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital and New Media, Bashir Ahmad, has sent a congratulatory message to Senegal over winning their first African Cup Of Nations.

Sengal beat Egypt 4-2 on penalties on Sunday night following a goalless draw after extra-time.

The aide to President Muhammadu Buhari held that the Lions of Teranga’s triumph against the Pharaohs was justifiable.

However, the Kano-born frowned at the decision of naming the Senegal striker, Sadio Mane as the best player of the 33rd edition of AFCON.

Ahmad opined that the Cameroon striker, Vincent Aboubakar should have been awarded the honor.

The 30-year-old made the disclosure via a series of tweets.

Ahmad said: “Congratulations to Senegal on winning the #AFCON2021. Well deserved.”

“Sadio Mané awarded the best player of the tournament, how? Cameroon’s Aboubakar is by far the best player of this #AFCON2021. They should have given him his award.”
