AFCON 2023: Nigeria Beat Guinea-bissau to Qualify For Round 16

Nigeria on Monday defeated Guinea-Bissau to qualify for the Round of 16 at the ongoing African Cup of Nations.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the Super Eagles held on to a first half lead to see off the African Wild Dogs 1-0.

Guinea-Bissau’s Opa Sangante kicked the ball into his own on 36th minute under pressure from Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen had a goal disallowed for handball in the second half, while Guinea-bissau also had a goal ruled out for offside.

Nigeria finished as runners-up behind Equatorial Guinea, who breezed passed Ivory Coast 4-0 to top Group A.
