Meanwhile, the former Senate President has also wished the Eagles best of luck

The number one citizen of Nigeria praised the Eagles via a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Femi Adesina which was released on Wednesday.

The President hoped just like millions of Nigerian football fans, that the outstanding match against Egypt in Cameroon is the expectation of what will also happen when Nigeria clashes against Sudan in their next AFCON tie.

He therefore, appealed to the Eagles’ interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen and the coaching staff to focus on the ball.

He also urged them to continue to represent Nigeria well even outside the pitch as he also assured all Nigerians more exhilarating moments to celebrate.

Meanwhile, the president has also guaranteed Nigeria his unshrinking backing.

Watch out for Saturday when Eagles will be taking on Sudan in group ‘D’ of the tournament.
