Eniola Olajuni, the national president of the Afenifere Youth Council, has been released after spending 12 days in captivity.
His release was confirmed by Biodun Aderohunmu, the national secretary of the Youth Council, who stated, “He has been released.”
Olajuni was abducted on Monday, February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja for a meeting.

His kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N100 million and two tricycles for his release.
However, following a viral video showing Olajuni at gunpoint pleading for help, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, ordered the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to ensure his safe return.
The police intervention and public outcry seemingly paid off, as Olajuni has been released. His family, colleagues, and well-wishers are relieved to have him back safely.
Afenifere Leader Pa Ayo Adebanjo Dies at 96
The family of Pa Ayo Adebanjo has announced his passing, describing him as a “foremost nationalist, elder statesman, distinguished lawyer, very distinct politician, apostle of true federalism, former organising secretary of Action Group and the national leader of Afenifere.”
According to the family statement, Adebanjo died peacefully on Friday morning at his Lekki residence in Lagos at the age of 96.
