Afghanistan: 'I Am Alive,' Taliban Leader Reported Dead Speaks Out | Daily Report Nigeria

Former head of the Taliban’s political office in Doha, Mr. Mullah Baradar has confirmed that he is alive, dismissing rumors that he was killed following allegations of an internal Taliban split nearly a month after the group gained control of Kabul.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban’s deputy prime minister, said he was “traveling from Kabul hence had no access to the media in order to dispute this report” in an interview with the country’s state broadcaster on Wednesday.

The statement reads

“This news is not true. Thank God I am absolutely fine and healthy,” he told Radio Television Afghanistan, according to the Associated Press.

“The news about our internal conflict the media are reporting is also not true. We have compassion among ourselves, more than a family. We assure the Afghan nation, Mujahideen, elders, and youth do not worry and there is no reason to be worried.”
