Ex-international Efan Ekoku received his allocation letter in Abuja, as his niece, Lisa Jenifer Nwagbogun, accepted it on his behalf.
Moreover, the letter was personally handed over by Pemi Temitope, Director of Public Building and Housing Development, who represented the minister at the brief ceremony.
“I am deeply grateful to the Federal Government and the Ministry of Housing for fulfilling this long-standing pledge… This gesture not only honours Mr. Ekoku’s service but also restores faith in public promises.” — Lisa Jenifer Nwagbogun
Temitope described the handover as “symbolic but crucial,” underlining the government’s renewed commitment to honouring those who have brought pride to Nigeria.
Originally made in 1994, the housing pledge received formal approval from President Buhari in 2022.
Since then, government teams have rolled out allocations in phases across the country; Ekoku’s home is part of the Abuja batch.
