Again, Many feared dead in Anambra stampede | Daily Report Nigeria

Some residents of Okija in Anambra State have been confirmed dead in a stampede during distribution of rice in the community on Saturday morning.

Videos circulating on the Internet showed many of the victims of the stampede mostly women lying on the ground lifeless.

Also, some white coloured coffins were seen in the videos.

It was also learnt that some of those injured during the stampede were taken to hospital

While confirming the incident, Charles Aburime, the chief press secretary to the Anambra governor, said the state government is monitoring the situation.
