More revelations have emerged from the ongoing protest orchestrated by women for self determination in Igbomotoru Kingdom, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Baylesa State.

In different interviews with angry protesting women and youths, accusing fingers were pointed at the Nigerian AGIP Oil Company as well as Dalon Company owned by Chief David Lyon of alleged manslaughter in Igbomotoru.

According to indigenes of Igbomotoru kingdom, the Nigerian AGIP Oil Company installed his pipelines in the area since 1972 and started operation two years after. Yet, locals are yet to enjoy their right as a host community following the former’s persistency in failing to fulfil it’s long list of obligations.

Not only has she and her fellow pupils been deprived of education by the activities of the twin companies, Ebimoboere also had her father and elder brother killed by security operatives without cause.

She emphasized that school activities have been on a halt as all parents have been forced to go into hiding out of fear of being harassed or killed by military operatives hired by their oppressors.

To buttress Ebimoboere’s claims, a youth leader, Ebipamene Charles who is the CDC Chairman of Igbomotoru 1, stated that AGIP has been causing inter-communal crisis in the kingdom.

He narrated that from 2014 till date, countless youths of Igbomotoru Kingdom have been killed or maimed by the activities of AGIP and Dalon Company.

He emphasized that many youths have been kidnapped and secretly killed by the multinational company.

He narrated the story of Ebimonime Francis popularly known as Akunama, who has been missing for many years without trace of his whereabouts by the kingdom.

Mr Charles called on government at all levels to intervene on AGIP to allow Igbomotoru people fully exercise their right as a host community.

Daily Report Nigeria earlier brought you report of the ongoing protest by women of Igbomotoru kingdom over an alleged marginalization that stretches back to the 1970s.

As at press time, many indigenes especially youths and men were still in hiding over fear of being shot and killed by men of the Nigerian military.
