Air Force Bombs Naming Ceremony of Bandits Leader, Bello Turji

The Nigerian Air Force has bombarded the residence of foremost bandits leader, Bello Turji in Zamfara State.

The bombardment is said to have been initiated during a naming ceremony in Fakai, Shinkafi Local Government Area, of the state.

An unspecified number of bandits were reportedly killed by the military airstrike, while others were left trapped.

The aerial invasion by NAF was followed by due intelligence about the gathering of the bandits at the particular location.

A source told Daily Trust that the occasion was a naming ceremony for a baby born to Turji’s family.

Turji has gained notoriety for his role in the banditry challenge in Zamfara and beyond.

He maintains a large gang of gunmen, who, for years have been terrorising residents in Shinkafi and Zurmi local governments of Zamfara and Isa and Sabon Birni local governments of Sokoto State.

PRNigeria further reports that the bandits were killed during a ‘surprise raid’ by operatives of Operation Forest Sanity.
