Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu, has responded to criticism from singer Seun Kuti over her advocacy for the liberation of African women.

Seun Kuti had slammed Aisha for her comments, stating that African women enjoy greater freedom than women in other parts of the world.

In her response, Aisha wrote: “Seun Kuti wants to trend with my name as his karaoke business is not blowing alongside those doing music.

Imagine being angry that I am holding the government accountable and not the private sector! I don’t blame him sha! If only his father had discipline over his loin, we would not be dealing with the consequence of that lack of discipline! Person wey people dey book im show because dem wan see a caricature of his father even if they can’t have the real thing.”
