The names of the chairmen of Senate committees such as Appropriations, Public Accounts, Public Morals, Petitions, and the Constitution have been released.
Daily Report Nigeria reports that Senate President Godswill Akpabio released the names during Tuesday’s plenary session.
Akpabio revealed that Senator Solomon Adeola will chair the Appropriations Committee, while Senator Ahmed Wedada will chair the Public Accounts Committee.
Among the new appointees were Nuhu Ribadu (National Security Adviser), Maj Gen Christopher Moses (Chief of Defense Staff) Maj Gen Taoreed Lagbaja (Chief of Army Staff), Commodore Emmanuel Ogala (Chief of Naval Staff), and AVM Hassan Abubakar (Chief of Air Force Staff).

The new officeholders have resumed serving in an acting capacity awaiting confirmation by the National Assembly.
The Senate President also read a letter from President Bola Tinubu to the House requesting confirmation of the newly appointed military leaders.
The letter insisted that the new service directors’ screening will be done by the entire upper house of the Senate at an undisclosed date.

The President’s letter was read by the president, Abbas Tajudeen, during an open plenary session on Thursday.
