Says robust legislative engagements await Nigerians.

Dismisses reports of illness as false.
Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, returned to Nigeria on Monday morning, ending days of speculation over his health condition.
Akpabio arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 4:00 a.m. after a brief stay in London following his participation at the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, Switzerland, held between July 29 and 31.
He was received at the Presidential Wing of the airport by senators, aides, and supporters who had awaited his return.
Speaking to journalists shortly after arrival, the Senate President pledged Nigerians “robust legislative engagements” as the National Assembly resumes plenary.
He also justified the size of Nigeria’s delegation to the Geneva parliamentary conference, assuring citizens of better dividends of democratic collaboration.
In his words: “We will give Nigerians more derivatives of democratic governance and effective collaboration with the other arms of government.”

When asked about the rumoured illness, Akpabio dismissed the claims with a sharp retort. “If you listen to the social media, you will go to war,” he said.
The clarification comes after former Ogun State Governor, Senator Gbenga Daniel, and Akpabio’s Special Assistant on Media, Mr Jackson Udom, had both earlier denied the speculation.
