- Governor labels question ‘irresponsible’
- Media chat turns heated
Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has clashed with a journalist during his monthly media chat in Umuahia, the state capital.
The incident occurred when Chika Nwabueze, a journalist with the BON media group, asked Otti to provide concrete evidence of the impact of his policies on the lives of Abians. Otti took umbrage with the question, describing it as “irresponsible” and challenging Nwabueze to provide data himself, as a resident of Abia state.

“You have not said anything. Do you live in Abia? So if you live in Umuahia, you are the one that will provide data,” a furious Otti said.
The governor emphasized that the media chat was a “serious” platform, not meant for “frivolous inquiries”.
