In Bloomberg’s latest global ranking, Aliko Dangote is listed as the 156th richest person.
Rupert’s wealth has increased by $1.21 billion from January to August this year. In contrast, Dangote’s net worth has been significantly affected by the depreciation of the Nigerian naira, resulting in a loss of over $10 billion in the last six months.
Dangote’s fortune primarily comes from his 86% stake in Dangote Cement, tying his wealth closely to the Nigerian economy and currency. Meanwhile, Rupert’s wealth is largely derived from his stake in Cie Financière Richemont, a leading luxury goods manufacturer and the world’s largest luxury watchmaker.
