State Criminal Investigation Department launches probe
A 60-year-old American woman, Jacqueline Bolling Elton, has died suddenly in Warri, Delta State, after travelling from the United States to visit her 39-year-old companion, Alawode Olaide.
Elton reportedly fell ill on September 29, 2025, around 3:00 p.m. at Olaide’s residence in Warri and was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Otokutu. Despite medical efforts, she was pronounced dead on arrival at the Central Hospital, Warri.

Investigation Underway
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. Olaide has been taken into custody for questioning, according to counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama.
