The Osun State Amotekun command have arrested a alleged livestock thief in the state.

According to reports, the Amotekun corps arrested one Olalekan Mashood on Tuesday, October 22 for allegedly stealing some livestocks in Kuta town.

 

Confirming the arrest, the Amotekun Corps commander, Dr Isaac Omoyele, while parading the suspects amongst othersĀ  said the suspects were arrested while fleeing with two sheep suspected to be stolen.

Omoyele added that the suspect is known as a serial goat thief who operates in Iwo area.

He said;

ā€œOn 22/09/2024, at about 11:45 hrs, Amotekun operatives, acting on credible intelligence, laid an ambush at a bush path in Kuta town via Iwo and arrested one Olalekan Mashood, who specialised in stealing goats.

The suspect was eventually apprehended with two sheep, which he confessed to having stolen”

Also, the spokesperson paraded one Taiwo Badro, an impostor who posed as a bank manager and defrauded people.

Giving details of the offences committed by the suspects, Omoyele said Badro posed as a bank manager and admitted under interrogation that she defrauded many people, especially in Lagos State, before relocating to Osun.

 

He said, ā€œOur men apprehended the suspect on 19 October at about 14:45 after she defrauded one Fatai Saheed of about N4.5 million.ā€
