The health workers in Anambra State will make use of clock-in devices in the hospitals henceforth.
The state’s Health Commissioner, Dr Afam Obidike made the development known in a statement obtained by reporters.
According to Obidike,
Governor Charles Soludo has approved the stamping devices for health workers in the State.

The statement obtained by reporters on Saturday revealed that Soludo would ensure workers were paid according to the number of hours worked.
The development was also the state government’s interest to improve its health sector.
During a meeting with senior medical directors, administrators, and chief nursing officers from all public hospitals in the state, the commissioner explained that the state was working on the “hub and scope” approach, where referrals would be made from the primary health center to the secondary center and eventually to the tertiary health center.
He announced that the Anambra State government wants to build at least one “strong” general hospital per local government area, adding that Nise Eye Care Center in the Awka South Council area has all first-class facilities to operate efficiently.

“Anambra State Government Scales Up Measures To Reposition Health Sector
“Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, says that the state government is working tirelessly to keep on improving its health sector.
“Dr Obidike stated this during a meeting with Chief Medical Directors, Administrations, and Heads of Nursing Services in all government-owned hospitals across the state.
“Addressing the assembly, Dr. Obidike, who said that they are working on the hub and scope approach, where referrals would be done from the primary healthcare center to secondary and finally to the tertiary healthcare center, thanked those, who are doing well in their various facilities, urging others to sit up.
“He disclosed that Anambra State Government wants to build at least, one strong general hospital per local government area, adding that its Eye care Centre at Nise, Awka South Council Area, has all the world class facilities to function effectively.
“Commissioner Obidike, unveiled state government’s plan to make primary healthcare sector more efficient to eliminate infant mortality, morbidity and neonatal mortality.
“According to him, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has signed clock-in device for healthcare workers, which means that one will be paid based on how many hours worked.
“One of the participants, Mrs. Chika Aneke, from the Governor’s Lodge Clinic, described the meeting as apt and promised that they will continue to deliver quality services to the people at all times.
“Permanent Secretary, in the ministry, Mrs. Caroline Njaka, Anambra State Hospital Administrator, Dr Innocent Umeakunne, Director, Medical Services in the ministry, Dr. Ugochukwu Chukwulobelu among others were present during the meeting.”
