Anambra State Police Command has busted an arms-running syndicate in the state.
A release by DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the State Police Command spokesperson, disclosed that 23 pump-action automatic guns were recovered from the syndicate in Onitsha.
Ikenga also said that the police also apprehended the dealer.

The short press release read: “The breakthrough followed weeks of intensive surveillance by operatives of the command.
“A total of 23 automatic pump action guns and 625 live cartridges were recovered.
“So far, three suspects have been arrested in Onitsha while investigation is being expanded.”
The Police spokesperson quoted the state Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye as commending the operatives involved in the operation, adding that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, also provided guidance throughout the duration of the operation.
