Ancelotti Hints at Real Madrid’s Stance on Fielding Young Players After Subbing Out Arda Guler

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti hinted that the club doesn’t want him to rely heavily on younger players.

The experienced Italian coach explained why he subbed out Arda Guler during Real Madrid’s comfortable 3-0 victory over Cadiz on Saturday.

The Santiago Bernabeu side secured their 36th La Liga title after Barcelona’s defeat to Girona.

Ancelotti was asked about his decision to replace the 19-year-old Guler, who was playing well but was swapped for Jude Bellingham.

He responded by saying that Guler was getting tired and needed a rest, which led to the substitution.

“Arda Güler played his role, but he’s still very young. I took him off because he got tired, and I wanted fresh energy on the field to finish the game,” Ancelotti said, according to Get Football News.

He added, “When Real Madrid signed me, they didn’t ask me to focus on young players.”
