Angry Mob Kills Man Mistaken For a Thief in Bayelsa

A young man identified as Ayabotu Oyere Dennis has been reportedly killed by a group of angry mob who mistook him for a thief in Bayelsa State.

Endakuwe Opukeme Gmike who disclosed this via a post on Facebook, said the incident happened on Tuesday night, November 23, in Yenagoa, the state capital.

It was gathered that the deceased, who was said to be a commercial tricycle driver, unknowingly carried two suspected thieves who were being chased by a group of angry mob.

The chasers allegedly hit his Keke and when he came down to enquire why they did, the thieves fled. The mob mistook him for one of the thieves, descended on him with weapons, he was beaten until he gave up.
