“So this is the best way I could reach out to all of you, far and wide, worldwide, who were showing so much love, care, support through that tragic, traumatic time where we lost Latz and Sina in Nigeria,” Joshua said.

The road accident, which happened on December 29, 2025, involved Joshua and members of his close circle. While the boxer survived and later received medical care, Latif Ayodele and Gami Sina sadly lost their lives.

Joshua revealed that the loss was even more painful because they had planned to end the year together.

“The last time I spoke to you guys was in Miami. We had so many plans to wrap up 2025, and we were on a mission. We went back home to see our families, and everything just got flipped upside on its head,” he said.

Describing the impact of their deaths, Joshua said Latz and Sina were not just friends, but pillars in his life and in the lives of many others.

“Not only did their parents, uncles, cousins, friends, and myself lose two great men, we lost people we dearly cared about. They were major players in all of our lives.”

He explained that their relationship went beyond friendship.

“They’re my brothers, my friends first, and then we became business partners. We became everything.”

The former world champion also spoke about his sense of responsibility toward the families they left behind.

“I understand my duty. I know what they wanted to do for their families, so my goal is to help them achieve those goals, even though they may not be here physically,” Joshua said.

Reflecting on life and loss, he added: “It ain’t about legacy. It’s about doing what’s right. One day my time will come too, and I’m not scared. It’s comforting knowing I’ve got two brothers on the other side.”

In the caption of the video, Joshua wrote:
“A short message from the heart. My brother’s keeper for life.”
