British-Nigerian heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua is reportedly considering retirement from professional boxing just days after surviving a tragic car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of his longtime associates.
The accident occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where members of Joshua’s entourage were involved in a fatal crash.

Two of his close team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, died in the incident, while Joshua sustained only minor injuries.
According to reports, the 36-year-old boxer has privately informed his family of his intention to step away from the sport.

His uncle, Adedamola Joshua, was quoted as confirming the development, saying the decision followed deep emotional trauma from the incident.
Family members reportedly expressed relief over the possible retirement, noting the intense anxiety they endured whenever Joshua stepped into the ring.
Following the tragedy, Joshua attended funeral services in London and publicly committed to providing lifelong support to the families of his deceased colleagues.
Meanwhile, Nigerian authorities have commenced legal proceedings against the driver involved in the crash, who is facing charges related to dangerous driving.
