Prominent leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State have stepped up mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring full support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah. The leaders said Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Mbah’s governance style have shown clear results that deserve continuity.

Key APC figures, including the party’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Emma Enukwu, Senator representing Enugu East, Kelvin Chukwu, and the State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ben Nwoye, said President Tinubu has performed creditably and should be given a second term in office.

Speaking during a membership revalidation exercise at Obinagu ward in Udi Local Government Area, Enukwu urged party members and supporters to register and obtain their voters’ cards ahead of 2027.

“This is the time for our people to register, get their APC membership cards, and be ready to vote President Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah in 2027,” Enukwu said.

He explained that the party’s newly introduced electronic registration and revalidation system was designed to modernise APC operations and ensure transparency in its membership database.

Enukwu also expressed confidence in the party’s growing strength in the state, assuring President Tinubu that Enugu would deliver no fewer than two million votes for APC in the next general elections — a sharp rise from the party’s performance in 2023.

At Amurri ward in Nkanu West Local Government Area, Senator Kelvin Chukwu revalidated his APC membership and said he had no regrets leaving the Labour Party.

According to him, his defection was based on the people-focused policies of President Tinubu and the performance of Governor Peter Mbah, whom he described as one of Nigeria’s most effective governors.

“I joined APC because of leadership that puts people first. President Tinubu’s policies and Governor Mbah’s performance speak for themselves,” the senator said.
