The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has told Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to resign from his ministerial role and stop meddling in Rivers State politics.
In a statement released on Monday, Basiru noted that Wike has no standing to intervene in APC matters until he formally joins the party.

He also dismissed claims that his involvement is motivated by the N600 billion in Rivers State government funds, stressing his record of integrity and principled service.

“From my record, he isn’t a member of APC. I don’t see what authority he has to dabble in APC affairs,” Basiru said. “As National Secretary, my responsibilities extend nationwide, not just Osun State, and no one outside the party can query my activities.”
Basiru further addressed Wike’s veiled threats, stating, “I believe only God can affect anyone’s life. I cannot be bullied, no matter how highly placed. My service record is above board, and I answer only to the party and the people.”
He concluded with a pointed warning: “My advice to him is to resign as Minister and face his obsession with Rivers politics.”
