The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ratified the zoning of the party’s national chairmanship position to the North West.
This decision was announced by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, after the NEC meeting on Wednesday.
According to Morka, “The NEC has ratified the zoning of the national chairmanship position to the North West.” The position was initially zoned to the North Central, which led to Senator Abdulahi Adamu emerging as the chairman of the party.

However, internal party crisis led to the resignation of Adamu and the former National Secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
After the duo’s resignation, the former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdulahi Adamu, emerged as the chairman, and Senator Ajibola Basiru as the Secretary.
Also, the NEC constituted a seven-member committee, chaired by the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, to bring more members into the NEC of the party.

A crisis is brewing in the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Minister of State for Housing, Yusuf Abdullahi Atta, and the APC National Chairman, Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, engage in a bitter struggle over the state chairmanship position.
The incumbent chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, is seeking to continue in office for a fourth term, a move that has been vehemently opposed by Atta.
