The All Progressives Congress (APC) North-Central Forum has expressed its approval of the party’s national leadership for its inclusive approach in the recently formed National Campaign Council for the upcoming Ondo State governorship election.

In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, Forum Chairman Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga praised APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje for integrating various factions within the party into the campaign structure.

The National Campaign Council, inaugurated on October 28, 2024, is led by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and includes key figures such as Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Zazzaga emphasized the significance of this inclusive strategy, stating, “We laud the APC national leadership for the decision to carry the North-Central Forum and other sections of the party along in the Ondo State Governorship Election Campaign Council.”

He noted that this commitment to unity is crucial for ensuring the party’s success in the election and beyond.

The chairman encouraged party members to rally behind the APC candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is running to complete the term of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. “Governor Aiyedatiwa’s record speaks for him; he has done well and deserves to continue in office to implement his people-oriented policies,” Zazzaga asserted.

He called on the people of Ondo State to come out in large numbers to vote for Aiyedatiwa in the election scheduled for November 16, 2024, and highlighted Aiyedatiwa’s approval of a N73,000 minimum wage for state workers as a testament to his commitment to public welfare.

Also, Zazzaga urged patience from Nigerians regarding President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, asserting that the challenges faced by the nation are long-standing issues that require time to resolve.

“The President is not insensitive; he listens and understands the situation. He is determined to turn things around in line with his Renewed Hope Agenda,” he stated.
