APC Protests Removal of Tinubu’s Billboards in Anambra | Daily Report Nigeria

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised alarms over Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s alleged directive to remove billboards featuring President Bola Tinubu.

The billboards, placed across all 21 local government areas by Sir Paul Chukwuma, a prominent contender in the upcoming governorship race, have become a focal point of political contention.

In a statement, APC official Ifeanyi Ibezim revealed that efforts to confirm the directive led to discussions with the Managing Director of the Anambra Signage and Advertising Agency, who indicated that the order exceeded his authority.

Ibezim criticized the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) government for diverting attention from pressing security issues, stating, “Instead of addressing killings and kidnappings in the state, they are busy chasing shadows.”

Ibezim emphasized that under Chukwuma’s leadership, the APC is committed to enhancing security through a comprehensive three-point plan focusing on human development, infrastructure, and safety.

He also highlighted Chukwuma’s initiatives to revitalize the party’s presence in Anambra, including the establishment of a new party office in Awka and strategic offices across the state.

“Chukwuma is re-energizing APC in Anambra, demonstrating that a new Anambra is possible,” Ibezim stated, noting the party’s successful membership drive, which has attracted members from the Labour Party, APGA, and PDP.

The new Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Me, countered the allegations, asserting that the government has not removed President Tinubu’s billboards but is enforcing existing campaign laws.

“There’s a time frame to begin campaigns, and that time has not come. Mr. President is not running for the governorship election in Anambra state,” he clarified.
