Former Minister of Interior and current National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) will lose power in the 2027 General Elections, based on what he described as “clear political indicators.”
Speaking on Thursday in Ilorin during the commissioning of the ADC’s new state secretariat, Aregbesola said the ruling party has lost touch with the people and is relying on intimidation to maintain control.

“If the APC truly believes it still enjoys massive support, it wouldn’t be hunting down opposition members so aggressively,” he said. “Across Nigeria, our party members are being harassed from Lagos to Kebbi and Kaduna. Such actions show fear, not confidence.”
According to the former Osun State governor, the ADC’s growing acceptance among Nigerians reflects a hunger for change and frustration with the current leadership. He noted that citizens are becoming more aware and are ready to vote for a party that represents their real interests.
“The ADC will take over power in 2027 by the grace of God,” Aregbesola said confidently. “The APC has failed to meet the expectations of the people, and the country is tired of their empty promises.”

He further described governors who recently defected to the APC as “enemies of progress,” insisting that their presence will not help the ruling party’s declining image. “These governors are not wanted by the people,” he added.
Aregbesola assured Nigerians that the ADC will present credible candidates in 2027, promising that the party will prioritize transparency, accountability, and good governance.
