Argentina successfully defended their Copa America title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Colombia on Sunday night at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

Substitute Lautaro Martinez became the hero with a late extra-time goal in the 112th minute.

He capitalized on a precise through ball from Giovani Lo Celso, lifting his shot over Colombia goalkeeper Camilo Vargas to secure Argentina’s record 16th Copa America triumph.

Notably, La Albiceleste achieved this historic feat without their star player Lionel Messi, who appeared to suffer an injury in the 64th minute.

Despite his absence, the La Albiceleste clinched their third consecutive major title after their 2021 Copa America and 2022 World Cup victories.
