A gang of armed gunmen have killed a woman in Ekiti State.
According to reports, the incident occurred along NTA Road in Ado Ekiti area of the state around 7 am on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

It was gathered that the yet-to-be-identified woman was shot by gunmen on a motorcycle.
“The gunmen who were riding on a motorcycle made an attempt to forcefully dispossess the woman of her bag while standing by the road,” a source told journalists.
“The woman was said to have resisted the attempt and refused to surrender her bag and other valuables to them.
“She was shot by her assailants who fled the scene immediately.”

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command said the killing was more of a robbery, and a total of forty thousand, two hundred and eighty naira (N40,280) was found in the bag of the deceased woman.
He added that the woman’s corpse has been deposited in the mortuary, and the police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.
