In a separate development, three terrorists laid down their arms in Kukawa and Damboa. They were identified as Fannami Ari (also known as Abu Dujana), Hussaini Hassan Modu (also known as Abu Yusuf), and another trainee fighter. They told the military that worsening living conditions and loss of trust in their commanders pushed them to surrender.

The pressure from the ongoing operations extended into the North-West. Troops of 1 Brigade stopped two kidnap attempts along the Magami–Jan Gemi and Kucheri–Bilbis roads in Zamfara, rescuing 11 victims. The military said the kidnappers fled after sensing troop movement.

In the North-Central region, troops stormed criminal hideouts in Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa, and Kaduna, arresting 15 suspects and freeing four more kidnapped individuals.

The operation also extended down South. Soldiers uncovered two illegal crude oil refining camps at Biseni in Bayelsa State. At Ohaji/Egbema in Imo State, they intercepted 62 sacks filled with stolen crude oil, shutting down the illegal activity.

According to the military source, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has ordered that the momentum must not stop until peace is restored nationwide.

No ransom was paid before he was reunited with his family.

The Army assured Nigerians that operations will continue until all terrorist and criminal networks are dismantled.
