Following the death of Nigerian first female combat helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile, immediate elder sister to the late icon, Damilola Adegboye has called on the Nigerian Air Force to probe her sister’s death.

According to Adegboye during a media interview, the family is disturbed by the untimely death of Arotile, wondering how a vehicle on reverse motion could kill her in such manner.

The Nigerian Air Force had disclosed that Arotile died from a road traffic accident at its Kaduna Base, after sustaining head injuries from the incident.

Meanwhile Adegbola and the family are not yet convinced on the released statement from NAF pertaining to Arotile’s death.

Adegbola statement reads in part;

“We in the family are not convinced that Tolu can just die like that in a freak accident. I know that the military is well trained in the art of investigation, we want them to carry out a thorough investigation that can convince us beyond all doubts that the incident that led to her death was real.” (Culled from PUNCH)

Adegbola further said that on the day of the incident, she and Arotile were together when a call came into her phone from a seem senior officer who called her to the base. Adegbola noted that her sister was initially reluctant to go but had no choice.

After dropping her off, she read online one hour later that Arotile was dead which she found it difficult to believe.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State House of Assembly has called on the state governor, Yahaya Bello, to immortalise Arotile.

Arotile, a native of Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi state, remains the first female combat helicopter pilot in the Nigerian Air Force.
