The People’s Democratic Party in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, has described reports of an attack on the Board Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission, Chief Michael Diden Ejele as “arrant nonsense”.
Ejele, a frontline aspirant for the Delta South Senatorial seat, was said to have escaped being attacked by irate youths in, Burutu during a consultation visit.
According to Focal Point Reports, some youth leaders had attempted to ask the Delta Political Vanguard Chairman questions at the end of a PDP caucus meeting.

The report titled “Delta 2023: See How Ejele Escape Attack In Burutu As Consultation Ends In Anger over Ijaw Governorship” also stated that “it took the intervention of stakeholders to rescue Ejele, from the hands of the angry youths who were bent on causing mayhem.”
When contacted by Daily Report Nigeria, the Burutu PDP Chairman, Ebike Oromoni labeled the report as a nonsense.
Narrating what transpired on Saturday, Oromoni noted that some youths infiltrated a leadership meeting where Ejele was part of and attempted to disrupt it, but were chased out.
“These young men were not invited for the meeting, yet they insisted on asking questions when the meeting had ended.
“Vote of thanks had been taken and at the point of the closing prayer, they tried to ask questions and we said it is not possible for you to ask questions now.
“The meeting already ended, and you were not even invited to be part of deliberations, you cannot ask any questions now.
“They tried to cause trouble by hitting the high table, but were chased out of the venue. Nobody attacked Ejele. That report is an arrant nonsense,” he said.
Oromoni called on party members and the general public to treat the report with levity, as such never happened.
