While people were jubilating and cheering, the angry guard opened fire on a crowd of jubilant, killing one of the people, while injuring another.
Confirming the incident, the regional police spokesman, Twaha Kasirye, told the Daily Monitor newspaper, “We condemn the incident, and we ask anyone with information that can help the police to bring the suspect to book to speak up.”

In other news, a group of family members have been handed a hefty sentence, after killing a woman over allegations of witchcraft.
The court convicted a woman, her husband and her siblings of the crime.
