Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta recently praised his former mentor, Pep Guardiola, hailing him as the top manager in the world “by a mile.”

Having served as Guardiola’s assistant for three years following his retirement as a player, Arteta gained invaluable experience under the seasoned coach’s guidance.

Transitioning from his role at Manchester City, Arteta assumed the managerial position at Arsenal in December 2019, marking the beginning of his own coaching journey.

Despite last season’s close battle for the Premier League title between Arsenal and Manchester City, with Arsenal narrowly missing out in the final weeks of the campaign, Arteta holds Guardiola in high regard.

As Arsenal currently sits at the top of the league table this season, Arteta’s admiration for Guardiola’s managerial prowess remains unwavering.

“He is the best manager in the world by a mile.

“He is someone I loved working with and that will stay forever. The intelligence, the way he manages the team, an incredible work ethic, he does a lot behind the scenes that people don’t see.”
