Asake Faces Backlash Over ‘Only Me’ Music Video Featuring Christian Imagery

Nigerian artist Asake has faced severe criticism online following the release of his chart-topping single “Only Me.”

The backlash erupted after the unveiling of the song’s music video, which prominently featured Christian imagery.

Many accused the singer of disrespecting Christianity, especially considering his own Muslim background.

The video, released on Thursday, depicted Asake donning priestly attire and engaging in rituals reminiscent of the Catholic Church, such as distributing communion. Christians took offense at what they perceived as mockery, condemning the video as disrespectful.
