President Bola Tinubu has reportedly met with Alhaji Asari Dokubo, a former leading agitator in the oil-rich region, at the State House ( Aso Rock).

Daily Report Nigeria gathered that the meeting was part of the President’s ongoing consultations with opinion leaders from the Niger Delta region.

Reports insisted that Dokubo will likely be a key player in the President’s efforts to halt crude oil theft in the country.

In addition to meeting with Dokubo, Tinubu has also held discussions with other prominent figures from the region.

These prominent figures were, Chief Timi Alaibe, former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and Dr Dakuku Peterside, former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

The development came weeks after the President reiterated his commitment to ending crude oil theft in Nigeria.
