Asisat Oshoala, the Super Falcons striker and former FC Barcelona femini player, has voiced her disapproval of blogger Tunde Ednut’s derogatory remarks directed at Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi.
In the wake of Nigeria’s 2-1 loss to Ivory Coast in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Ednut took to social media to mock Iwobi, who has frequently faced criticism from online detractors. Ednut’s insensitive caption:
“Iwobi is out, Thank you Lord…”, incited backlash from fans and fellow players alike.
However, Oshoala was particularly displeased with Ednut’s behavior.
