Why Surulere Was the Strategic Choice
Head of Technical, Alabi Kazeem said Surulere was chosen because it’s a sports hub.
Hosting at Obele Odan and Ideal High schools allowed more girls to benefit.
He noted the Academy’s track record in discovering talent, citing Janet Akekeromowei—2025 Nigerian Women’s League MVP first spotted at a SHE event.
“She was identified during an event at Police College, Ikeja. Since then, she’s become a top scorer and has represented Nigeria’s U-17 and U-20 women’s teams,” he added.
Encouraging Girls Beyond the Football Field
Program coordinator Oluwaseun Savage said that the Academy encourages exploration beyond football:
“That’s why we included Taekwondo and hygiene education. It’s essential for a girl to know how to protect herself and maintain her well-being.”
Health Education Through Strategic Partnerships
Emzor Pharmaceuticals led deworming and public health sessions.
A representative said:
“Asisat is an inspiration to many aspiring female footballers in Nigeria. Partnering with her foundation aligns with our commitment to empowering women and promoting health.”
