National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has disclosed that the leadership of the party does not regret fixing its presidential nomination form at N100m.

Adamu said the seat of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was not a small one, and as such, aspirants contesting it ought to be prepared.

“It is also to discourage parties that have no chance of winning elections from sponsoring individuals to play the role of spoilers,” Adamu added.

In a similar circumstances, the APC National Chairman had on Wednesday, expressed disdain for people condemning the fee as astronomical.

He said the contest for the Nigerian presidency was not an election of a motor park union, saying aspirants were expected to mobilize support.

Adamu stressed that candidates spend who seek emir positions spend more than a N100 million without guarantee of having such seats.

“If a presidential aspirant cannot mobilise at least ten thousand supporters to raise such amount that person is not a serious contestant.

“We are talking about the president of Nigeria, not the emir of your town. Now when the emir of your town dies the person seeking to replace him will spend more than N100 million for just one emirate.

“Apart from this, there are so many leadership positions that will cost more than 100 million before he is included,” he added.
