Syrian rebel factions have declared the end of President Bashar al-Assad’s rule, announcing that he has fled the country after over 13 years of conflict and oppression.

In a statement released on Telegram, the rebels proclaimed, “The tyrant Bashar al-Assad has fled” and declared that Damascus is now free from his regime.

The announcement marks a turning point in Syria’s ongoing civil war, which began in 2011. Rebels hailed this as the dawn of a “new era” for Syria, urging citizens both inside and outside the country to return and embrace a “free Syria.”

According to the rebel statement, “After 50 years of oppression under Baath rule and 13 years of crimes and tyranny, today marks the end of this dark period.”

This declaration by the rebel factions comes at a time when Syria’s future remains uncertain, but it offers hope to millions of displaced citizens.

The fall of Assad’s regime would represent the collapse of one of the Middle East’s most enduring dictatorships, bringing to an end a brutal era of forced displacement and violence that has ravaged the nation for over a decade.

In their statement, the rebel factions stressed the importance of unity among Syrians, calling for national reconciliation and the creation of a new, democratic Syria.

They emphasized that this is a moment for all Syrians to rally together in the rebuilding of their country, free from the tyranny that has defined the Assad regime for generations.

While international sources have yet to confirm the exact whereabouts of President Assad, the news has sent shockwaves across the Middle East and the world.
