When asked to contest for the Lafia/Obi Federal constituency in 2027, Akwashiki acknowledged the request and promised to respond at the appropriate time.

He stressed the need for Nigerians to move beyond religious and ethnic politics, stressing that development and progress should be the primary focus.

The Lawmaker urged unity and peace among all individuals, regardless of their affiliations while promising to support the groups’ activities.

He encouraged them to pray for and support Governor Abdullahi Sule and Speaker Danladi Jatau.

Earlier, the groups had announced their confidence in Akwashiki’s leadership, praising his positive impact on the Lafia/Obi Federal constituency.

They urged him to contest the seat in 2027, citing his purposeful leadership as a reason for their request.

Akwashiki, a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) currently represents the people of Lafia central constituency at the state assembly.
