The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday, commissioned another private school in Kano.

The former Vice President had taken to his official social media pages to announce the commissioning of the Atiku Abubakar School of Social and Management Science at the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria.

Atiku, who was accompanied by a large crowd, reiterated his passion for education and its transformative impact.

“It is a privilege to commission the Atiku Abubakar School of Social and Management Sciences at the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria in Kano today. This is another high point of my visit to Kano.

“My passion for education comes from the heart and a lifetime of experience seeing its huge transformative impact,” Atiku said.

However, the move was greeted with mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media.

While supporters of the 2023 presidential candidate commended the move, others said it was a furtherance of the decay experienced by a public school.

Hamza Sanni Warma wrote;

“Dear students, your monthly ASUU strike has been successfully renewed. Thank you for choosing APC Government.”

Ahmad Yusuf said; “Capitalist Atiku u are after private Universities which only children of elite can afford.”

Mustapha Nura said; “This is commendable but forget about the presidency you can’t lead this great Nation.”
